Episode 361

A Personal Update: Standing With Foxx

In this deeply personal update, Kelly Kennedy speaks from the pediatric oncology ward at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.

Kelly and Shelby’s one-year-old son, Foxx, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. As their family begins navigating treatment and an entirely new reality, Kelly is placing The Business Development Podcast on hold so he can focus fully on Foxx, Shelby, and their other boys.

This is not goodbye. The podcast will return as soon as Kelly and his family are able.

Guests who have already recorded conversations can be assured that their episodes will still be released as Kelly begins to understand what this new family schedule will look like. For the next few weeks, however, everything remains uncertain, and his family must come first.

For updates about Foxx, Shelby will be sharing through her Instagram account:

A GoFundMe has also been created to support the family throughout Foxx’s treatment. Donations are deeply appreciated, but sharing the fundraiser can also make an enormous difference.

Kelly and his family are incredibly grateful for your patience, support, and prayers as they walk through this together.

Speaker A:

Hey everyone, it's Kelly.

Speaker A:

This is not going to be a polished update.

Speaker A:

I'm recording this from the pediatric oncology ward at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton.

Speaker A:

Our one year old son Fox has been diagnosed with stage four cancer and as you can imagine, our entire world has changed.

Speaker A:

Right now my focus has to be on Fox, Shelby and our other boys and obviously getting our family through whatever comes next year.

Speaker A:

Because of that, I'm going to need to put the business development podcast on hold for the time being.

Speaker A:

I love this show, I love this community, and I'm incredibly grateful for everybody who has supported us over the past three and a half years.

Speaker A:

This is not goodbye.

Speaker A:

We will be back.

Speaker A:

I just cannot tell you exactly when that will be.

Speaker A:

Right now, to the guests who've already recorded episodes with me, your conversations will still be released.

Speaker A:

And as we begin to understand what this new schedule and reality look like for our family, I will do everything I can to get those episodes out.

Speaker A:

For the next few weeks, everything is up in the air and I need to just give myself permission to focus completely on being Fox's dad, which is my most important job.

Speaker A:

If you would like to help our family, GoFundMe has been created for us and you can find it very easily on my LinkedIn page.

Speaker A:

We understand that not everybody is going to donate and that's totally cool.

Speaker A:

Even just sharing the fundraiser with your community would mean more to us than you could imagine.

Speaker A:

Shelby will also be sharing updates about Fox on her Instagram account and that is elbnatural for anybody looking to follow us on this journey.

Speaker A:

Most of all, we would deeply appreciate your prayers as we walk through this together as a family.

Speaker A:

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding and standing beside us.

Speaker A:

We will speak again as soon as I can.
